Setting the Tone: How Intentional Session Beginnings Transform Healing
How I start and move between clients has evolved significantly throughout my career, shifting from what I thought I would do, to what I actually did, to what I’ve come to understand, insist on and avoid.
My primary goal has always been to provide solutions for my clients. From my days in door-to-door sales (yes, I’ve had many work experiences), I learned the importance of exceeding client expectations. I once applied for a job at Mercedes-Benz and took a personality test, which revealed a tendency to “over-promise and under-deliver.” Mortified, I resolved to do the opposite—under-promise and over-deliver.
When I was in school for foot reflexology in 2009, during a practice session on a fellow student, I began to sweat and heat up. To my surprise, the student exclaimed that her foot pain was gone! I was astonished and skeptical, dismissing it as lip service. But this marked my introduction to energy exchange, and my teacher encouraged me to explore it further. Initially, I brushed it aside, not fully understanding what had happened.
When I started my practice, I used visualization techniques, akin to what I had learned in sports, imagining myself ‘fixing’ the body through the reflex points. In my mind, it was like performing surgery. This practice became foundational to my work, though it also laid the groundwork for challenges I would later face.
From the moment I had the first experience with energy transfer, it solidified what I had already felt time and time again—energy movement and an ability to non-verbally communicate with the body. For a few years, my energy abilities always kind of remained in the category of "magic hands". I had had some medium experiences but initially thought I was just making it up. It wasn’t really until 2020, during the global crisis, that it truly opened up for me, and I saw myself more clearly, with more compassion and understanding.
During my first 6 years of practice, I incorporated whole-body vibration using a T-Zone machine at the start of every session to boost circulation and enhance the body’s ability to communicate through reflexes. This simple, three-minute activity proved effective in addressing the general state and lending to better results for my clients. I still use this technique for some clients that appear to have imbalances stemming from the spinal region, including muscles.
In the early years of my practice, probably beginning around year 3, I began to experience the same symptoms my clients complained about. My first symptom that I attracted was shoulder pain. I had shoulder problems in grade school, so I didn’t put it together until I had dreams showing how to fix the issue, which actually still goes on today. I would perform the method from my dreams with a client, and then my own symptoms resolved once the client experienced relief. This intrigued me and drove me to seek solutions. The worst was hip pain—it was the first multidimensional experience I had, and it actually lasted for 10 years! More about that in another post, but it required me to come back into my body, which mystics regularly talk about as a result of deeply healing generational traumas.
Depletion of energy was deeply seeded by about year 5, exhausted and barely able to keep my eyes open during treatment was real. It was the result of not managing my earthly experience properly, a normal rookie mistake and part of my learning journey. Though I lacked formal training at this stage, I seized an opportunity to attend a Reiki and reflexology course in Mexico with my original foot reflexology instructor. The course manual illuminated many ideas I had intuitively considered, and I began integrating practices like sage burning, gemstones, grounding techniques, and Reiki rituals to prepare myself and my treatment space.
Unfortunately, despite these efforts, I continued absorbing clients’ symptoms, leading to severe energy depletion and illness. My immune system suffered, and in just a short while I contracted the Zika virus during travel. I also experienced a serious infection in my thumb that required emergency surgery, leaving me unsure if I could ever practice again. I eventually resumed practice, equipped with new insights and tools, including what I jokingly referred to as my “superpower thumb.”
Weird and wacky approaches like MMS helped me combat the Zika virus. Finally, I reached out to a few holistic practitioners I respect, and they all pointed me toward the creator of the neutralizing ring, Wayne Gaydos. I called the number they provided, left a message, and let it sit. I had heard he was very selective and hard to reach.
To my surprise, he called me back and expressed interest in attending a facial reflexology class I was teaching in the Edmonton area to give a demonstration of his products during our lunch break. Needless to say, I was impressed with the feeling of his products because I could actually feel them!
Until that point, I thought I wasn’t capable of feeling anything from such tools, as none of the other products or suggestions had worked for me. It turns out they simply weren’t strong enough for me. Yay! I left that session with a big box full of Krystaline tools to prepare my room.
-
a 9” neutralizing ring to clear out any disruption coming into my treatment room and for dealing with any charge that came from working reflexes- I just put the ring at my feet and commanded the consciousness of the ring to do as I wished, creating neutrality from anything that came from client or even from myself or any exchange in between.
- a 4” neutralizing ring that was either put onto the client or myself by my own intuition to catch any other sneaky energies!
-
2 x ankhs on either side of the heart to open it up for more light and
-
a triple pyramid to manage unwanted non-physical energies.
Sometimes I even felt it was necessary to perform an entire body sweep on the client prior to starting. (you can find this demonstration on my YouTube channel EricaLaytonWeiland)
For a while and to this day, at the beginning of a session I will stand on all 4 aspects of my person with the neutralizing ring for 30 seconds commanding the consciousness to clear and cleanse any and all disruptive energies that would prevent the purest of all light creations in the room or persons in attendance. WOAH! That was a buzz I’d not felt since when I started my schooling.
After meeting Wayne Gaydos, he became an invaluable mentor and the first person I could ask questions about my own memories and experiences—things that were a little too weird for the common folk. We have discussed the earth, cosmos, and everything in between. It has given me an appreciation for channeling my own self and understanding how to question narratives, even in the woo-woo realm, as not everything is created equally.
I have now come to realize my abilities to communicate multidimensionally, and I no longer shy away from them. I am able to talk about it in sessions when applicable or when my client discusses their issues, and I hear guidance from beyond this dimension on how I can help. In fact, it has brought relief to those who feel crazy, unheard, and who have had unexplainable experiences.
For the last six years, through moving my clinical practice and working with multiple clients, I have been able to sustain three clients a day by using the neutralizing ring, initializing treatment with an internal prayer, and, when needed, employing alchemy aromatic sprays based on what consciousness would bring into my awareness. This depended on what the client was dealing with. I found that I repeatedly used black tourmaline, pink tourmaline, Moldavite and Lapis Lazuli. Now, let me tell you that I have not found (with the exception of Kate King’s Angelic gemstone, which I wear) any other gemstones capable of providing the degree of strength required to facilitate the detailed energy transfer that takes place during a session. However, I have also not invested in stones within the $1,000 range, like the Angelic necklace stone that I wear, which I hope to do in the future, as I strongly believe that quality matters when selecting the ‘right’ gemstones.
Fortunately this took me through a period in my career that was tumultuous and extremely stressful including opening a new clinic in a different province (state) , embarking on a new business relationship, and a managing people through a pandemic all of which I was completely unprepared for.
In the most recent couple of years I have found myself building my circle of friends with mystics, seers and executives which have provided me the wisdom to set up my room as follows:
- a 9” neutralizing ring near my feet
- a 9” divinity ring under my table about heart location
- a 9” sun ring on the wall
- a Triple Pyramid System, shining on ME! And performing sweeps when required for clients who are experiencing multidimensional challenges.
However, I was still maintaining only 3–4 sessions a day and still feeling drained at the end of the day—though I was no longer taking on my clients' symptoms.
What sessions look like today
The two most recent additions to my practice have been:
- Consecrating and dedicating my room and table with prayer and blessings for all who enter.
- Incorporating the power of breath in treatment—not just random breathing, but intentional and consistent breathing.
I consecrate and dedicate my room and table with prayer and blessings for all who enter, every time I change the sheets. I use prayer to connect with the intelligence of the cells, guiding us through a realignment and restructuring process.
When the situation calls for it, I will sweep the client directly. Otherwise, I have come to understand the consciousness of my tools and converse with them as needed. Given that these are 9” tools built on a nodal point that creates sacred geometry, multidimensional work becomes possible at the drop of a command.
I’ve also learned how to use the breath without shame or embarrassment. Incorporating techniques inspired by Quantum Touch, I practice varied breathing methods that maintain my frequency and protect me from lower vibrations. This is easier said than done, as I had not realized how little I was breathing before. While I knew I yawned as energy moved, I now recognize that as what I have come to understand as a survival breath. Breathing has significantly restored my energy, increased my client load, and left me feeling stronger than when I first began my career in natural healing arts.
Through trial and error, perseverance, and a commitment to growth, I’ve found methods that allow me to offer transformative sessions while maintaining my own well-being.
To conclude sessions, I now say, “And it is DONE.” This phrase, shared with me by a mystic friend, embodies the power of word to create and command. It has brought clarity and finality to the healing space, helping my clients hold their results better.
